Dr. Zoe Louise Saynor is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Activity, Exercise and Health at the University of Portsmouth and Honorary Researcher within the Queen Alexandra Hospital and Southampton General Hospital.

Her primary research interests focus on clinical exercise physiology and exercise testing and training in people with chronic health conditions. Zoe’s PhD focused on furthering our understanding of the assessment and interpretation of aerobic exercise (dys)function and altered oxidative metabolism in people with cystic fibrosis. Currently research includes exercise testing and training studies with people with cystic fibrosis, non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, diabetes, asthma, generalised joint hypermobility and joint hypermobility syndrome, and end-stage renal disease. Zoe’s research involves working with both adult and paediatric groups.

Outside of her research, Zoe is also an elite level athlete, having playing at international level and currently representing Harlequins in the English Women’s Premiership. During this talk, Zoe will provide an insight into her experience applying the sports science knowledge from elite sport to the clinical arena.
