Postdoctoral position in osteoimmunology - deadline 1st July 2020

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented post-doctoral researcher interested in developing/extending expertise in osteoimmunology to join our team. We will pay special attention to candidates willing to develop their career in France.

Host laboratory: The team "Osteoimmunology, niches and inflammation" in the Laboratory of Molecular PhysioMedicine, Nice, France ( is depending on the CNRS, the main research body in France, and the Université Côte d'Azur labeled as "University of Excellence". Located in the Faculty of Medicine in the heart of Nice, it provides a high-quality scientific environment with access to all required core facilities as well as interaction with clinicians.

Project: The research activities of the team are focused on the cellular interactions between immune and non-immune cells in the bone marrow. This project is focused more specifically on osteoclasts, the monocytic cells responsible for bone resorption. We recently showed that in addition of being responsible for pathological bone destruction in inflammatory diseases, they are innate immune cells activating T cell responses toward immunosuppressive or inflammatory responses highlighting their heterogeneity. The objectives of this project are an in-depth characterization of the heterogeneity of osteoclasts in terms of their contribution to inflammatory responses and the conditions in which they differentiate in particular in link with specific inflammatory CD4+ T cell substes. The aim is to identify new clues for diagnosis and therapeutic strategies as well as novel information on osteoclast heterogeneity and immune function, a neglected aspect of osteoclast biology.

Requirements: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented post-doctoral researcher with a strong background in osteoimmunology or immunology, assessed by publications. She/ he must have a strong experience in cell biology, flow cytometry, RNAseq analysis and animal experimentation. Ability to work independently, and excellent team communication and organization skills are essential. French or English practice is mandatory.
